The Mayors’ Institute of City Design(“MICD”) is an NEA-sponsored initiative founded in 1986. The organization’s core program is comprised of annual collaborative workshops where mayors engage with design and development leaders to seek solutions to the most critical planning and design challenges facing their cities. Sessions are organized around case study projects. Each mayor presents a project from their city and receives feedback from other mayors and design leaders. Ms. Hamlin is a three-time alumna of the MICD having participated in sessions with eighteen (18) mayors from around the country.
