The MICD Just City Mayoral Fellowship is a program of the Mayors’ Institute on City Design in partnership with the Just City Lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Throughout the Fellowship, mayors and their staff identify how injustices manifest in the social, economic, and physical infrastructures of their cities and identify a specific neighborhood or site for investigation. In 2022, Ms. Hamlin was paired with the Mayor of Madison Wisconsin and in partnership with architect Andre Brumfeld of Gensler, developed a plan for Darbo-Worthington, a low-income neighborhood that the Mayor targeted as a site for intervention. The plan demonstrated how Just City principles of racial and social justice can be applied in neighborhood design and development.
