The Schermerhorn is a supportive housing residence containing 217 units of housing for formerly homeless and low-income individuals, a fully equipped black box theater and arts center, as well as studios for the Brooklyn Ballet.   Designed by Polshek Partnership (now Ennead), this award-winning building features a façade of channel glass that at night serves as a gentle beacon on a formerly desolate block.  The Schermerhorn was created through a unique partnership between Hamlin Ventures and Time Equities and two not-for-profit organizations, Common Ground Community and The Actors Fund, who now own and operate the building.
